Results for our Community and State

  • Awarded “Taxpayer’s Best Friend” by the Texas House Republican Caucus
  • Lowered school property tax rates by one-third and helped pass a constitutional amendment to extend this tax cut to senior homeowners
  • Eliminated an outdated tax on Texas telephone consumers which will lower phone bills in Texas
  • Replaced the TAKS test in high schools with end-of-course exams so teachers will not be forced to “teach to the test” instead of teaching curriculum
  • Raised teacher pay and supported a 13th check for retired teachers
  • Protected private property rights by supporting a 2-year moratorium on the Trans-Texas corridor and strongly opposes foreign company ownership of Texas roads
