Bohac Earns Top Rating from Texas Right to Life

By Elizabeth Graham, Texas Right to Life

HOUSTON- Texas Right to Life is proud to announce that Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston, House District 138) is one of the top Pro-Life scoring House members of the 82nd Legislative Session, earning an overall Pro-Life voting score of 113%.

Representative Bohac has been a vocal advocate in the protection of the sanctity of life, making the Pro-Life cause one of his top priorities since he was elected to office in 2003. Representative Bohac has been more than a “yes” vote, taking leadership in the Pro-Life budget amendments on the House floor during the 82nd session.  He also successfully reallocated $14 million from the controversial family planning revenues (a funding stream for the abortion industry) to Mental Health Programs for Children.  After the House version of the state’s budget passed, Representative Bohac was key to ensuring that no money was restored to the abortion industry in the final version of House Bill 1.

Bohac’s high Pro-Life score reflects not only his primary sponsorship of several Pro-Life amendments, but also his co-authoring all of Texas Right to Life’s bills and his stellar record on all forty-one life votes on the House floor during the 82nd Session.

Representative Bohac has proven to be an invaluable resource to the Pro-Life cause throughout his tenure in the State House.  Texas Right to Life Political Action Committee has already issued an endorsement for his re-election to the Texas House of Representatives.
