Dwayne Bohac Endorses Railroad Commissioner Victor Carrillo

Early Voting Starts Today for GOP Primary Runoff Election, Election Day is Tuesday, April 13th

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for the support you showed me during my race in 2002 and the support you have continued to show me since I was elected to represent District 138. I am honored to represent you and will continue to work hard on your behalf.

As you know, there were a number of important races on the ballot on March 9th. Many of those affect us now and will continue to do so in the future. However, there is one race that I would like to personally discuss with you.

Texas Railroad Commission Chairman Victor Carrillo was challenged by three primary opponents. As you know, it is extremely difficult to capture more than 50% of the vote in a four person race. Chairman Carrillo won 49.58% of the vote. Although he did very well in the four-person field, collectively his opponents garnered more than 50% of the votes.

Governor Perry appointed Chairman Carrillo in January of 2003 and the Texas Senate unanimously confirmed him. His colleagues named him Chairman in September of 2003 and since that time he has cut the agency’s budget by nearly 13%, championed Texas energy technology and jobs, improved public and environmental safety, and started work on a comprehensive energy plan for Texas.

The Texas Railroad Commission oversees the Texas energy sector. They are responsible for the oil & gas industry in Texas, the pipeline industry, and surface mining. Governor Perry named him to the Railroad Commission because he is a licensed geologist, geophysicist, and licensed attorney specializing in oil & gas and environmental law. Chairman Carrillo is the only candidate in the runoff election with experience in the energy industry.

But we can take nothing for granted and he needs your continued support!

Please tell your family, friends, church members, and e-mail network about his campaign. His race is the only statewide race on the ballot for April 13th. Voter turnout is expected to be low across the state, so every vote counts even more.

I need you, your family and friends to turn out at the polls and vote for Victor Carrillo. Early voting begins today and ends on April 9th. Please encourage everyone to go to the polls and vote. Remember that all registered voters are eligible to vote in the runoff, even if you did not vote in the Republican Primary Election in March.

I appreciate the support that you have already given me and I look forward to continue to serve the great people of District 138.

Please visit Chairman Carrillo’s website for more information.

Sincerely,

Dwayne Bohac
