Rep. Dwayne Bohac Receives "Conservative Champion" Award from Texas Conservative Coalition

HOUSTON, TX -- This week, State Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) was honored to receive the "Conservative Champion" Award from the Texas Conservative Coalition (TCC) for his commitment to conservative policies and principles during the 84th Texas Legislature.

"Representative Dwayne Bohac is recognized as a “Conservative Champion” by the Texas Conservative Coalition because of his faithful efforts to enact significant tax cuts, secure our border, pass a balanced and responsible state budget, enhance rights guaranteed under the First and Second Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, and protect the unborn," said TCC Board President and State Representative Geanie Morrison.

"The TCC has always supported the principles of limited government, individual liberty, free enterprise and traditional values that I identify with," Rep. Bohac said.  "With these principles as the lens through which I view all legislation, we passed a balanced, conservative budget that addressed core priorities including education, infrastructure and border security, while also providing Texas businesses and homeowners with nearly $4 billion in tax relief."

The award criteria were based on each legislator's commitment to advance, support and vote for conservative policy positions.  Included in the evaluation was the legislative scorecard, which was based on 230 votes taken during this past session.

On November 4, 2014, Representative Dwayne Bohac was re-elected to represent House District 138. He is a lifelong District 138 resident.  This is the third time he has been honored by the Texas Conservative Coalition having received recognition each time since the award began in 2011.
