The Houston City Council voted in favor an ordinance that will promote the development of new recreational green spaces and hike and bike trails in Houston. Utilizing the authorization language found in House Bill 200, authored by State Representatives Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) and Jim Murphy (R-Houston), the City of Houston and CenterPoint Energy were able to reach an agreement that will enhance neighborhood quality of life and save taxpayer dollars.

Houston, TX --  Today, the Houston City Council voted in favor an ordinance that will promote the development of new recreational green spaces and hike and bike trails in Houston.  Utilizing the authorization language found in House Bill 200, authored by State Representatives Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) and Jim Murphy (R-Houston), the City of Houston and CenterPoint Energy were able to reach an agreement that will enhance neighborhood quality of life and save taxpayer dollars.

Houston, TX -- As we enter the heavy summer travel season, Rep. Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) shares the latest update on the major redevelopment of Highway 290 and the opening of an important piece of the project involving the Grand Parkway Interchange (SH 99).

State Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) is pleased and proud to announce that much needed improvements to N. Gessner Road are scheduled to begin in 2016. The project will include the design and construction of a six-lane divided concrete roadway with storm drainage, curbs, dedicated turn lanes, sidewalks, driveways, street lighting, traffic control, and necessary underground utilities. The first phase of the project will include the area of Gessner in the heart of Spring Branch.

Today, State Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) hosted a press conference at the Texas Capitol to raise awareness for the State’s new Merry Christmas law (HB 308) that allows parents, teachers, students, and school administrators to celebrate Christmas and traditional winter holidays in public schools without fear of censorship, litigation or persecution.  Before the press conference, Bohac appeared on Fox & Friends, the Country’s top rated morning news show, to highlight the law and encourage other states to pass similar legislation to stop the assault on Christmas.

This Friday night, November 22, my family and I are taking part in the nationwide opening of a film that brings the real meaning of hope and Christmas to the big screen in a beautifully produced and meaningful way. 

A lifelong district resident, Bohac has a strong record of keeping taxes low, job creation, securing the border, improving public education, and protecting the 2nd Amendment and traditional family values.  He’s also focused on improving local quality of life for District 138 through transportation improvements, increased flood control, urban design and intersection esplanade beautification projects and more open recreational spaces.  

State Representative Dwayne Bohac reminds voters that a photo ID will be required to vote in the upcoming November 5, 2013 Joint Election. Rep. Bohac was a cosponsor of Texas’ landmark 2011 legislation to require Voter Photo ID that was designed to protect the integrity of the election process.
