Bohac Announces Capitol Staff Assignments

80th Legislative Session Now Underway

AUSTIN–State Representative Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) is pleased to announce his Capitol staff for the 80th Legislative Session which began Jan. 11.

Patrick Gurski will replace Travis Griffin in the role of chief of staff. Gurski began his service with Bohac as a legislative aide after the Second Called Session of the 79th Legislature in 2005. Prior to that, he served the Texas House of Representatives as the assistant voting clerk for the 79th legislature. Patrick was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas.

District Director Kay Clinton will continue serving the district while temporarily in Austin for the session. Previously on staff with Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Paul Bettencourt for 6 years, Clinton has served as a Precinct Chairman in Harris County for 8 years.

Joining the team this session is Manny Salazar, who will serve as a legislative aide. Manny was a member of the inaugural class of the Moreno-Rangel Legislative Leadership Program during the 78th Session of the Texas House of Representatives. During that session he worked as a legislative intern for former state Representative Elvira Reyna (R-Mesquite).

Back home in the district, Lois Stromberg and Wes Krueger will continue to serve as local neighborhood liaisons. They maintain a vital link to the district as the eyes and ears of the representative while he is away in Austin.

”This is going to be an amazing session and I am extremely grateful to the citizens of District 138 who are allowing me to sit in their office and vote from their seat on the House floor for a third session,” Bohac said. “I believe that I have surrounded myself with talented, motivated and caring professionals who will work hard on behalf of everyone in the district.”

The 80th Legislative Session began January 9, 2007 and will last until May 28, 2007. This session Rep. Bohac will file bills that provide property tax relief, strengthen public education, reduce crime, improve local quality of life and improve the environment.
