DWAYNE BOHAC SUPPORTS REQUIRING A PHOTO I.D. TO VOTE

In order to prevent voter fraud, safeguard against identity theft, and protect the integrity of our elections, Dwayne Bohac supports legislation that requires a valid Texas Photo I.D. to vote. Voting is the greatest individual freedom Americans have, and the only way to protect against voter fraud and ensure free and fair elections is to require a photo I.D. to vote, just as you are required to present a photo I.D. to cash a check.

During the past legislative session, Dwayne Bohac helped pass $100 million in additional border security funding to support local sheriff departments along the border to curb illegal drug and human trafficking.

• Uniform statewide policy for citizenship checks of all local arrests
• Uniform statewide policy for deportation of illegal immigrants arrested for Texas crimes

To clamp down on illegal immigration, the Texas Department of Public Safety recently adopted a new policy requiring noncitizens to prove they are in the United States legally before they can obtain or renew a driver’s license. Dwayne Bohac applauds the Texas Department of Public Safety for taking this necessary step.
