BOHAC GETS AN A+ FOR IMPROVING OUR SCHOOLS

A graduate of local public schools, State Representative Dwayne Bohac has made improving our schools a top priority. Dwayne supports classroom excellence, fair and competitive teacher pay, and local control.

During his time in office, Dwayne has worked hard to improve our schools. Highlights of his work on behalf of our schools and teachers include:

  • Authored legislation that reimburses teachers who spend personal money to provide school supplies for the classroom
  • Co-sponsored legislation that restored the Pledge of Allegiance in public school classrooms
  • Approved additional funding for our school classrooms
  • Supported across the board $2,000 teacher pay raise
  • Provided a 13th check for retired teachers
  • Helped replace the TAKS test with end of course exams so teachers aren’t forced to “teach to the test”
  • Supports a teacher pay raise to the national average
