Gessner Road to Receive Beautification Improvements

The Spring Branch Management District (SBMD) has reached an agreement with the City of Houston to design and implement esplanade beautification improvements along Gessner Road. The improvements are being made in tandem with the city’s current Gessner Road reconstruction project that will improve drainage and traffic flow along the thoroughfare.

Governor Abbott Announces New Harvey Recovery Funding

State Representative Dwayne Bohac (Houston-District 138) joined Governor Greg Abbott and local leaders at Houston City Hall this week as the Governor announced the availability of new funding for hazard mitigation projects along the Gulf Coast following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. This allocation of funding from FEMA will provide an estimated $1 billion for hazard and flood mitigation projects designed to both help Texas rebuild and reduce the risk of future damage from flooding and hurricanes.

HURRICANE HARVEY UPDATE: City of Houston Opens New Neighborhood Restoration Center in Northwest Houston

State Representative Dwayne Bohac (District 138-Houston) is pleased to report the City of Houston is opening an additional Neighborhood Restoration Center in northwest Houston this week. This new location at the Spring Branch Community Health Center is part of a partnership with Memorial Assistance Ministries to offer long-term disaster recovery support and services in neighborhoods hit hardest by Harvey and will open on February 1st.

Representative Dwayne Bohac Presents Ornament Designed by Local High School Student for Texas House Christmas Tree

Representative Dwayne Bohac (Houston) is pleased to present the House District 138 ornament that was hung on the Christmas tree in the Texas House Chamber this week. Every year around Christmas, state legislators from all 150 House Districts choose an organization, school or individual to design an ornament for the official Texas House Christmas Tree. The ornaments, representing the culture and personality of each district, are hung throughout the season on the tree. Rep. Bohac selects a different high school in the district each year to submit the official HD 138 ornament.

Republican Dwayne Bohac to File for Re-election to Texas House District 138

Tomorrow, State Representative Dwayne Bohac will file for re-election to Texas House District 138. The candidate filing period for the 2018 election begins November 11th and ends December 11th. Bohac will file at the Harris County Republican Party Headquarters. “As a lifelong resident of House District 138, I am very familiar with our district and have always worked to listen to our neighbors and deliver results,” said Bohac. “I am proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish for our district and state, but there’s more to be done. That’s why I will continue to focus on improving local quality of life, keeping our taxes low, improving education, and protecting our shared values.”
